Following the exhibition that took place in September, I have been working on putting together a zine about my travels to North Korea.
It took me quite some time to be able to make something coherent out of the gathered material, and to representative of the mixed feeling this experience has left in me.
You have to understand that you only get to see what they let you, as a tourist, so it's hard to get more than a glimpse into what life is like for the North Korean people.
This series of sequenced photographs are some kind of essay to portray what a weekend in Pyongyang actually feels like, rather than only what it looks like.
To exhibit those photos at first, and now to release the first edition of this Zine really is a milestone for me in terms of moving on to another project. I feel like this trip to North Korea, that lasted only 4 days, has held me hostage for more than a year.
I now feel that both myself and those images have matured enough for them to be shared, and for me to move on.
Zines will be printed and ready to be shipped the 31st of October.
It's the very first edition of this Zine and there will be 51 numbered and signed copies made.
You can reserve your copy before this date and benefit of a 20% reduction, using the promo-code “YOUREXZINE” on my Etsy shop here.
If you have any questions regarding either my trip to North Korea, or on the making of this Zine, feel free to reach out to me in the comment section bellow or through my Instagram profile here.
Until next time, have fun making photographs!
