Welcome to the first YOUR EXHIBITION Shootout. This will be a monthly series in which we encourage you to produce new images around a set theme, and you have the chance of receiving a zine from our collection. As this is the first one, this will be trial and error, so do bear with us whilst we iron out the details.
Each month we will have a guest photographer donate the zine, set the theme, and judge the images. For the first one, we are proud to have Daniel Keys judging this one. Some of you may be familiar with Daniel's thought-provoking work already, but if you're not, we recommend checking out his profile, his articles and the article we produced on his zine: Silent Spring.
As for the first theme, Daniel has set a broad theme: Self Portrait - there's a catch though: you're not allowed to directly be in the image. How do you take a self portrait without being in the image? Well that's down to you. Interpret this theme how you'd like; we look forward to seeing how creative you can be with this brief.
Each Shootout will last a month, so this first one will run from today, September 1st, and close at the end of the month, September 30th. To participate, simply upload your chosen analogue photo to Instagram, tag us in the image, and use the hashtag #YEShootout. Daniel will then judge his favourite, and we'll go from there.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask us via DM on Instagram. Otherwise, let the Shootout commence!
