SHOOTOUT: June 2019 - Home

Welcome to the YOUR EXHIBITION SHOOTOUT announcement for June 2019. This is a monthly series in which we encourage you to produce new images around a set theme, and you have the chance of receiving a zine from our collection.

Before we get on to this month’s theme, we’d like to congratulate Antonin (@antonlbrt) for winning the May SHOOTOUT. Here’s the image he submitted:

Such an interesting narrative… Here’s why Karl Bailey chose it:

“I love the simple yet not simple composition and the guy out there all alone. It appeals to me both aesthetically as well as based on the theme we picked, especially if you let your mind run a little about what he is looking for.”

This is so true! What could this person have found with his metal detector? Go congratulate Antonin here. We’re sorry to say that Karl’s 48 has sold out, but make sure you don’t miss his next zine by following him here.

Now, on with June’s SHOOTOUT! The judge for this one is none-other than Murphys Film’s Garth Murphy and the prize is his zine: Mono. It’s a brilliant zine celebrating Garth’s best monochrome images of Liverpool from 2017.

The brief is fitting to the zine: Home. Garth wants you to capture something about your home. Here’s what he had to say:

“The idea being whether it be your house or your city, take a chance to slow down and have a look at the smaller details which make up your home”.

As usual, as Garth is hosting it, he will also be judging it! To make sure that he’s able to see your submission, make sure you tag us (@YOUR_EXHIBITION) in YOUR analogue upload, and use the #YES0619 hashtag. As usual, the SHOOTOUT will last the whole month, so the winner will be announced the 1st of July.
